Jharkhand are inching closer to victory as they needs 37 runs to win against Maharashtra despite down by 4 wickets in the Group B match of Ranji-Trophy 2016-17 on Saturday at Delhi. Jharkhand were off to poor start as their opening batsmen Ishan Kishan and Shiv Gautam were gone for golden duck at a crucial stage. Virat Singh and Saurabh Tiwary were building a good partnership until rains and bad day light were cursing the match that could have gone the way of any teams. Ishank Jaggi also proved to be a disappointment and was dismissed for mere 4 runs. Singh and Anand Singh are doing their bit to help Jharkhand reach the target of 37 runs more and gain their six points to victory with first win. ALSO READ: Varun Aaron to captain Jharkhand

Anupam Sanklecha and Shrikant Mundhe got two apiece to rbowl out Jharkhand soon. However, their plans worked to a point but the Jharkhand batsmen found their way to survive all the odds. Jharkhand bowlers also played an excellent role in in bowling out Maharashtra for 188 with Kedar Jadhav the only man scoring a fifty. Rahul Tripathi tried his bit to build some runs and get his fifty as well but was dismissed for 32. Ashish Kumar and Shabaz Nadeem have done an excellent job for Jharkhand bagging three apiece and ending the Maharashtra story.
