As Andhra play on Day Three of the Round 4 match of Ranji Trophy 2016-17, they finish in a comfortable position against opponents Haryana. Andhra put up an average total of 253 in the first innings but pulled off a brilliant job, restricting Haryana for 103. They ended with 95 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their second innings but the middle-order put up good runs on the board, taking the score to 220. Andhra did not start Day Three on a very positive note as they had already lost their top four a day before. Captain Hanuma Vihari scored 50 but departed soon after. Sreekanth Ramesh Koripalli’s 33 and Siva Kumar’s 42 were among the highs of the second innings batting. For Haryana, Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohit Sharma both were the highest wicket-takers with 3 wickets each. Harshal Patel took 2 wickets while Ashish Hooda and SM Pahal both got a wicket each.

Chasing the target, Haryana soon lost a couple of wickets as Nitin Saini and Himanshu Rana could not score big. It was Shubham Rohilla who played the first run fetching knock for the side in the innings as he went on to score his half-century and remained unbeaten at 75 at the end of the day. As they resume batting the next day, Yuzvendra Chahal will bat at 12 with Rohilla.
