Punjab displayed some serious fightback against Baroda in their Ranji Trophy encounter and were comfortable placed at 452 for the loss of two wickets and are now trailing by 77 runs at stumps on Day 3. They were on the back foot after Baroda posted a massive 529-runs on the board. Punjab came out all guns blazing and their skipper led them from the front with example as he remained unbeaten on 179 along with Manan Vohra on 201. Deepak Hooda played a career-defining knock of an unbeaten 293 for Baroda on a surface where wickets kept tumbling like nine pins. Sandeep Sharma bowled well to scalp four wickets Siddarth Kaul and Shubek Gill had two each to their names. They were just unable to get rid of Hooda as he looked in some superb form and made the most of it. Pubajb had a mountain to climb and they did it well as their opener Manan Vohra stood like a rock. Uday Kaul got a good start but foundered after scoring 42 runs on the board. Yuvraj Singh played an impactful inings and have stitched a memorable partnership of 314 runs between them. Munaf Patel, Sagar Mangalorkar had a wicket each other than which each and every Baroda bowler struggled.
