Odisha make a comeback in the match against Rajasthan as they play on Day Three of Round 5 of Ranji Trophy 2016-17. But they bettered their performance in the following innings, as they ended with 244 runs on the board with the loss of 2 wickets as the Day Three ended. It was SF Khan’s century in the first innings that powered Rajasthan to the big total with a good 41-run innings from Ashok Menaria. In reply to this, Odisha had put up 143 for 8 at stumps of Day Two and were bowled out for 172 on Day Three morning. Pankaj Singh and Aniket Vinod Choudhary wer the two most successful bowlers with 4 wickets each. Odisha continued batting but came strong this time. Openers Sandeep Pattanaik and Ranjeet Singh provided the team with a good start. While Pattanaik got out for 41, Ranjit remained unbeaten at the end of the day at 89. Though skipper Govinda Poddar departed early, next in Subhransu Senapati stayed at the crease with Ranjit to build up a partnership while he himself scored 90 and remained unbeaten. Odisha have 244 runs on the board with the loss of 2 wickets.
