Haryana are in command at stumps on Day 3 against Jammu & Kashmir in Ranji Trophy Group C encounter at Cuttack. Jammu & Kashmir were following on at 38 for no loss in the second innings. After posting a 502 in the first innings, Haryana bowlers came out hard and bowled out their opposition for 262 in the first innings with Sanjay Pahal chipping four wickets and was equally supported by other bowlers. Shubham Khajuria played well at the top and scored a much needed fifty while Pranav Gupta smashed 94 and provided immense resistance. Their middle-order floundered and failed to make an impact when it was much needed. Haryana imposed follow-on as Jammu & Kashmir were bowled out for 262 in the first innings. Jammu & Kashmir came out hard in the second innings and did well in not losing a wicket at stumps on Day 3. They were placed at 38 for no loss and were trailing by 202 runs with a day’s play left. They have a mountain to climb on Day 4 as Haryana bowlers are brimming with confidence and will look chip early wickets in the morning session. Earlier, Haryana batsmen did well in the first innings and posted 502 riding on Rajat Paliwal’s magnificent run of 194 runs. Nitin Saini too did a commendable job at the top along with some valuable performances by the lower-order batsman. Haryana are currently sitting at the top of the Group C table and will look to gain maximum points from this encounter as well.
