Jharkhand thrash last year s runners-up Saurashtra by an innings and 46 runs in Ranji Trophy 2016-17 Round 6, Day Three at Bir Bikram College Stadium in Agartala. With this win Jharkhand have registered their third win of the season, whereas Saurashtra are yet to win a game. Jharkhand resumed Day Three on 458 for 7, with Ishank Jaggi still going strong. Jharkhand lost their three wickets for just 9 runs and Jaggi was eventually dismissed for 173. Medium Pacer Kaushang Patel was the pick of the bowlers for Saurashtra, finishing with figures of 5 for 95. Saurashtra needed 190 runs to make Jharkhand bat again, but failed to do so. Saurashtra kept losing wickets art regular intervals and never really had any sort of momentum going their way. Sheldon Jackson and Jaydev Unadkat with 23 apiece and an unbeaten 40 from Mankad were the highest scorers for their team. In the bowling department for Jharkhand it was leg-spinner Samar Quadri who was excellent and finished with figures of 4 for 46. Fast bowler Ashish Kumar chipped in with three wickets, to go with his four wickets in the first innings as well. Other than Jaggi, it was Ishan Kishan too, who scored a 120-ball 136 to put Jharkhand in a commanding position.

In Saurashtra s first innings, Prerak Mankad fell just four runs short of his century. Skipper Jaydev Shah was another star performer, finishing with 51. Saurashtra have not been able to scale the heights they did in the previous season yet and will look to turn things around soon. On Day One, Jharkhand won the toss and elected to bowl first.
