Kerala played some good cricket and have gained a 210-run lead in the second innings against Group C encounter of the Ranji Trophy 2016-17 against Goa at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. Kerala played well in the first innings and posted 342 runs with Bhavin Thakkar, Rohan Prem scoring a ton each. Barring them, none of the Kerala batsmen managed to get going. Rituraj Singh bowled well and accounted for seven wickets with the ball and was well supported by Saurabh Bandekar, who also had two wickets to his name. Goa responded well but lost the momentum in the middle. Shdab Jakati played a wonderful innings of 85 runs and tried to get his team closer to Kerala’s total. Vinod Kumar, Sandeep Warrier bowled well in dismantling Goa for 286 as they accounted seven wickets between them. Kumar picked four wickets while Warrier had three to his name. Kerala had 56 runs from the first innings and did well in piling more runs to their existing total. They added 154 more runs to their existing total and now have a healthy lead of 210 runs. They will look to add few more runs to their existing score and set a huge target for Goa to chase. Rohan Prem once again played a crucial knock while Mohammed Azharuddeen remained unbeaten on 56 at stumps. They have some batting to come and look favourites at this stage. Goa need to bring their best game out on the final day of the game.
