Tripura were in all sorts of trouble at stumps on Day 3 against Andhra in Group C encounter of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2016. Tripura were precariously placed at 165 for the loss of three wickets at stumps on Day 3 and are still trailing by 188 runs with seven wickets in hand. KV Sasikanth bowled well and chipped two wickets in the second innings Paidikalva Vijaykumar also accounted for a solitary wicket and will look to chip more wickets on the ultimate day of the game. Tripura had an awful outing in the first innings as well as they were bowled out for 171 in the first innings riding on Vijaykumar, Cheepurapalli Stephen’s splendid outing with the ball. Tripura batsmen didn’t manage to get things going and eventually succumbed to 171 runs in the first innings. Andhra after a shaky start played with immense confidence and posted 524 runs in their first innings before declaring their innings after the fall of six wickets. Prasanth Kumar played a tenacious knock 129 runs while Hanuma Vihari remained unbeaten on 233. Ricky Bhui also chipped in with some priceless runs and helped Andhra in posting a massive total. Gurinder Singh had four wickets to his name while Manisankar Murasingh had two wickets. Tripura have a massive task in hand on Day 4 as they are trailing by 188 runs and Andhra bowlers will try to chip early wickets in the morning session.
