The match between Kerala and Goa of the Round 6 of the Ranji Trophy 2016-17 which was being played at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai ended in a draw after Goa finished at the score of 279 for the loss of 5 wickets on Day Four while chasing the target of 314 set by Kerala. Sagun Kamat played a scintillating knock of 151 runs from 176 balls to keep his side in the race to win this match. Swapnil Asnodkar and Snehal Kauthankar both scored 41 runs to try and help their side win the match. Iqbal Abdulla was the best bowler for Kerala as he took 4 wickets giving away 66 runs. Initially on Day One, Goa won the toss and opted to field first in order to get the early help from the wicket for the pacers. But Kerala went on to post 342 runs in their first innings after openers Bhavin Thakkar and Rohan Prem both struck their respective centuries. Thakkar scored 117 while Rohan scored 130 runs. Barring these two batsmen none other could even cross the border of 20 runs as Abdulla was the third best scorer with 20 runs. Rituraj Singh was the best bowler for Goa as he took 7 wickets giving away just 42 runs.

Goa in their first innings could only manage to score 286 runs in their first innings after Shadab Jakati scored valuable 85 runs in the latter stage of the game. Saurabh Bandedkar was the second best scorer for Goa with 35 runs. Vinod Kumar was the best bowler for Kerala as he took 4 wickets and gave away 68 runs. Kerala had the lead of 56 runs as they went out to bat in the second innings and they batted till they reached a comfortable score of 257 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Rohan again struck 70 runs with his bat in the second innings while Mohammed Azharuddeen scored 64 runs. Bandedkar took 4 wickets in the second innings giving away just 70 runs.
