Rajasthan fell like nine pins against Jharkhand chasing 280 runs to win their Round 3 affair of Ranji Trophy 2016-17. Rajasthan started the day on 67 for 3 and were bundled out on 237 with Shahbaz Nadeem grabbing another 5-for for his team. Overnight batsmen P R Yadav was the first causality of Day Four. Yadav was dismissed by Ajay for a 98-ball 44. Mahipal Lomror became Nadeem’s third wicket got bowled for 26 runs. Rajat Bhatia who looked good in 44 balls stay, was Nadeem’s fourth wicket. Pankaj Singh was Nadeem’s fifth wicket in this innings and 12th of the match. A B Singh soon departed in the next over making 2-ball 0, handing Sunny his second wicket. C D Bist and A V Choudhary snitched up a brillaint 87- run partnership to keep their team in hunt.Ashish Kumar finally broke their pair picking up Choudhary for 32. Bist made a valuable 136-ball 77 was the final wicket to fall to Ajay and handing Jharkhand 42 run victory.

The low-scoring match started with Jharkhand batting first and managing 209 runs in their first innings. Kaushal Singh and Ishank Jaggi 49 were the chief contributors while for Rajasthan, veteran pro Pankaj Singh was the chief weapon with his five-for. In reply, Jharkhand bowlers struck on regular intervals and restricted Rajasthan to 207, painstakingly just 2 short of taking the vital first-innings lead. Their openers got fifties and added 100 runs for the first wicket. But Jharkhand bowlers led by Shahbaz Nadeem (7 for 74) ran through the middle and lower-order to take crucial lead.

Jaggi followed up his 49 in the first innings with a brilliant 100 in the second innings, thus helping his team post 277 and set a target of 280. Mahipal Lomror (5 for 51) and Pankaj (3 for 63) did well to keep the target within the reach.
