Vidarbha made a solid comeback in the Ranji Trophy encounter against Jharkhand as the match didn t conclude a result. Vidarbha were dismissed for a mere 105 in the first innings as Vikash Singh had four scalps to his name while Ajay Yadav and Ashish Kumar picked three and two wickets respectively to dismantle the opposition for a such a mere total. None of the Vidarbha batsmen managed to put a fight as wickets kept tumbling like nine pins. Jharkhand responded firmly as they posted a massive total of 362 on the board riding on Ishank Jaggi s century and some valuable contributions from Anand Singh, Pratyush Singh and skipper Saurabh Tiwary. Vidarbha bowlers had a tough time on the field as they failed to get enough quick wickets. But their batsmen came out hard with the bat in the second innings Sanjay Ramaswamy got a ton at the top and every batsman made some useful contributions. Ashish Kumar had four wickets while Vikash Singh had three. They were all out for 444 as Jharkhand had a target of 188 runs to be chased in the fourth innings. The target was tempting but there wasn t enough time that to be hunted down. Jharkhand lost four wickets for the score of 75 as the game ended in a draw. Shrikant Wagh did well with the ball but it wasn t enough to carry his team over the line.
