Karnataka won their fourth match in the ongoing season of Ranji Trophy 2016-17 in Group B. The match was played at Dr PVG Raju ACA Sports Complex, Vizianagaram. Batting first, Karnataka were all out for 374 and in return, Rajasthan were bowled out for mere 148 and thanks to skipper Vinay Kumar and Sreenath Aravind. Both scalped four wickets each. Siddharth Dobal was the highest scorer from Rajasthan side by making 47. Karanataka did not enforced follow on to Rajasthan and decided to bat again. In the second innings, Karnataka batted much better as compared to first innings. They made 298 for six wickets with the help of opener KL Rahul‘s century.

Mayank Agarwal and Ravikumar Samarth also scored fifties each. Karnataka set the huge target of 525 runs in front of Rajasthan, which they failed miserably. The couldn’t not even touch 150-run mark as they were wrapped up for mere 131. Salman Khan was the top scorer from Rajasthan by scoring 39. No other batsman could not touch 25-run mark. Vinay once again run through the Rajasthan batting from his spell of 11 overs by scalping another five-for. Aravind played the supporting role with Vinay by taking three-wickets in the final innings. Stuart Binny also got one wicket.

Karnataka won this match convincingly by a huge-margin of 393 runs. This is their fourth win in this season from five matches. They are currently at top in their group and are yet to lose any game. On the other hand, this was Rajasthan’s second defeat in the tournament.

Karnataka 374 & 298 for 6 (KL Rahul 106, Ravikumar Samarth 55, Mayank Agarwal 63; Rajesh Bishnoi 4 for 87) beat Rajasthan 148 & 131 (Salman Khan 39; R Vinay Kumar 5 for 54, Sreenath Aravind 3 for 19) by 393 runs.
