The Ranji Trophy 2016-17 semi-final has narrowed down to just one nail-biting event between Mumbai and Tamil Nadu at Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA), on Day Five. Gujarat have surged their way to the Ranji Trophy final after 66 years shattering Jharkhand s dream of maiden final Ranji Trophy after beating them by 123 runs. Gujarat had last reached the final of the tournament in 1950-51 and had played against Holkar. Meanwhile, Mumbai have begun their chase of 251 runs with Prithvi Shaw and Praful Waghela adding 5 runs on board. The live cricket streaming of the Day Three will be available on Hotstar while the live telecast will be broadcast on Star Sports HD 4 and Star Sports 4.

Mumbai need another 246 to win on the final day to once again reach the final of the tournament. Openers Prithvi Shaw and Praful Waghela will have to ensure that they get their team off to a good start. They failed to do so in the first innings, but will look to turn things around this time around. Centuries from Baba Aparajith and skipper Abhinav Mukund ensured that Tamil Nadu declare at 356 for 6 in second innings. They scored at a good rate, knowing that they need to register an outright win to make it to the final.

Aparajith top-scored with 138, while Mukund scored 122. Vijay Gohil and Balwinder Sandhu picked up 2 wickets apiece. In Reply Mumbai are 5 for no loss, needing another 246 on the final day to have a chance of defending their title. Mumbai have 41 Ranji Trophy titles. They beat Saurashtra in the final in the previous season.
