Gujarat have reached a total against of 246 for the loss of three wickets against Mumbai on Day One in the Round 7 of the Ranji Trophy 2016-17 match which is currently being played at KSCA Rajnagar Stadium, Hubballi. Gujarat opener Priyank Kirit Panchal is unbeaten at 122 runs from 256 deliveries to help his team post a decent total. He has currently hit 17 boundaries and has anchored the Gujarat innings on Day One. Vishal Dabholkar has been the best of the bowlers for Mumbai as he has finished Day One with 2 for 61. Gujarat skipper Parthiv Patel won the toss and opted to bat first as the wicket was thought to be conducive for batting. The Gujarat openers Panchal and Samit Gohel batted brilliantly and went on to put a 172 runs stand for the first wicket. Gohel was the first of the three wickets to be dismissed as he was sent back to the dressing room for 87 runs from 207 balls. Bhargav Merai, the man who walked at No. 3 quickly joined the dugout as he was dismissed for a duck by Dabholkar who had earlier also dismissed Gohel.

Parthiv Patel, the Gujarat skipper too could not sustain on the wicket for much longer as he departed for an individual score of 12 runs from 38 deliveries. Gujarat had 172 runs on the board when they lost their first wicket, but three quick wickets saw Gujarat reaching a total of 203 for the loss of three wickets. Manpreet Juneja who walked in at No. 4 stabilised the downfall of Gujarat as they have finally reached 246 for the loss of three wickets. Dabholkar took two wickets while Aditya Dhumal took 1 wicket while giving away 72 runs.
