Former champions Delhi are well on course for a win, as they are just 102 runs short of a win over fellow former champions Rajasthan, at stumps on Day 3 of Round 7 of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2016-17, at the Krishnagiri Stadium in Wayanad, Kerala on Wednesday. Rajasthan, who were earlier bowled out for 238 in the opening innings, bowled Delhi out for 307 in the first innings, while they came up with a below par performance in the second innings, as they were bowled out for 221, while Delhi are currently 51 for the loss of three wickets, with Shikhar Dhawan batting unbeaten on 35, as they look well on course to chase the total down, unless something magical comes up from the Rajasthan bowlers. Delhi will be hoping that the seasoned Shikhar Dhawan can take them past finishing line as they are in a spot of bother at 51 for 3 chasing a tricky target of 153 in a Ranji Trophy group B encounter on Wednesday. On the final day, Delhi will require 102 runs with seven wickets in hand as Dhawan batting on 35 off 46 balls with six fours will have to anchor his team to their second outright thereby keeping them in contention for a knock-out berth, reported PTI. Dhawan will do well to remember the 2010-11 season when during a similar chase (130 odd) against Railways, his indiscretion saw Delhi lose the match at the Roshanara ground. That was Dhawan before his Test debut and now he is a player who is gearing up for a comeback into the team post injury, added PTI.

Brief Scores:
