Jammu and Kashmir grabbed a vital 18-run first innings lead over Tripura by dismissing their rivals for 297 and then consolidated their position on day three of their Group C Ranji Trophy match on Wednesday. Resuming at the overnight 193 for six, 122 adrift of the J&K total of 315, Tripura’s major hope, their unbeaten opener Bishal Ghosh, lasted only 23 balls while adding nine runs to his overnight score before he was dismissed for 95 by former Mumbai left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh. This was a major blow for Tripura who were, however, kept in the hunt for the lead by Gurinder Singh who marshaled the tail to make a belligerent 84 not out off 111 balls, reported PTI.
