Madhya Pradesh had an upper-hand as they have earned three points in their Round 7 encounter against Railways in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2016-17. Railways did well in their first innings as they posted 371 runs riding on Nitin Bhille s fantastic ton while Saurabh Wakaskar, Arindam Ghosh chipped in with some valuable runs. Karn Sharma and Anureet Singh did well to contribute some valuable runs lower down the order. Ankit Sharma had a wonderful outing with the ball as he had six wickets to his name and dismantled the Railways batting for 371. Madhya Pradesh responded well to this as they came out fighting and gained a solid lead in the first innings. Naman Ojha played well for his fifty, while Devendra Bundela scored a much needed 188. Shubham Sharma also made the most of this outing and scored 119 runs whereas Ankit Sharma also chipped in with some useful 46 runs. Railways bowlers had tough time in chipping wickets at regular intervals. Karn Sharma, Avinash Yadav had three wickets each to their name. Railways were under the pump in the second innings but did well to be 150 for the loss of one wicket. Saurabh Wakaskar was unbeaten on 71 while Shivakant Shukla was dismissed after scoring 57. Faiz Ahmed was also unconquered on 20. Ankit Sharma had the only wicket fallen to his name as Railways took away a point from this game.
