The round 8 tie of Group C between Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and Hyderabad saw the latter gain upper hand by the end of Day One. After winning the toss, J&K invited Hyderabad to bat at Moti Bagh Stadium, Vadodara. Hyderabad lost their first wicket early in form of opener Akshath Reddy at 18. Veteran pacer of J&K, Samiullah Baigh was the one to provide first breakthrough for his team. From there on, Tanmay Agarwal along with captain Subramaniam Badrinath added 105-run partnership for second wicket. After the fall of second wicket, Tanmay, along with his new partner Balchander Anirudh put up another big partnership, adding 93 for third wicket. Like Badrinath, Anirudh too missed his fifty. Anirudh fell four short of his half-century but Tanmay kept on scoring from the other end and ended up hitting his fifth First-Class ton. Anirudh’s wicket was last of Day One. Hyderabad ended the first day of this match at 234 for 3. There were 17 extras in Hyderabad’s total of 234. Opener Tanmay remained unbeaten at 106 and will resume batting on Day Two with Bavanaka Sandeep.

From J&K bowling department, Rasool claimed two wickets, while Baigh one. Other four bowlers remained wicketless throughout the day. However, Ram Dayal bowled very well despite not getting any wicket. Dayal bowled 18 overs conceded 35 runs, out of which 9 were maidens.
