A dominant Madhya Pradesh cricket team was one wicket away from a massive victory over Baroda, in their Group A match of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2016-17 on Day Three. Madhya Pradesh have produced all-round display at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Ground in Dharamsala, and are now on the brink of a famous victory, which will be the perfect gift to their captain Devendra Bundela. The veteran cricketer became the most capped cricketer in the history of Ranji Trophy 2016-17 with this game, and a victory will certainly be the right way of celebration for Bundela and his team, especially when it marks the end of a game wherein they dominated completely.

After taking a 53-run lead in the first innings, Madhya Pradesh were bowled out for 293 in their second innings, thus setting a target of 346 against Baroda. In their reply, Baroda were tottering at 114 for 9 at stumps on the third day, facing a heavy defeat. Sagar Mangalorkar was batting on 8, and accompanying him was Babashafi Pathan on 10 not out. Baroda need an improbable 233 more runs to win with only one wicket left in their ranks. MP bowlers Ishwar Pandey and Puneet Datey claimed 2 wickets each in Baroda s second innings.

Chandrakant Sakure claimed 4 for 17 in his 8 overs as Madhya Pradesh produced a formidable bowling performance. For Baroda, Kedar Devdhar was the top scorer with 18 runs, as none of their batsmen could produce any sort of resistance in Baroda s second innings. Baroda were bowled out for 164 in their first innings.
