Ranji Trophy 2017-18 LIVE Cricket Score, Day 1: STUMPS

Hello and welcome to live updates of the 2017-18 edition of Ranji Trophy. Unlike last year, the matches won’t be played at neutral venues. Expect more spectators enjoying the Indian domestic season. Here’s how the 84th edition is dished out: it will have four groups, each including seven teams. With one more group in place, every team will play two fewer games. Each team will play three home games and three away. The top two teams from each group will proceed to the quarter-final, which in fact will be played at the neutral venues.

Led Ishant Sharma, Delhi will lock horns with Assam at Feroz Shah Kotla. Saurashtra, who roped in Karnataka’s Robin Uthappa, will square off with Mohit Sharma-captained Haryana. In other news, Dav Whatmore, who had guided Sri Lanka to victory in 1996 World Cup, will coach Kerala this year. However, defending champions Gujarat will take on Kerala on October 14.

The tournament will be played for nearly 3 months, with the final to be played on January 2, 2018. The venue is yet to be announced.
