The Day 3 of Round 4 in Ranji Trophy 2017-18 witnessed some nail-biting games. Where Karnataka ruled the roost with mammoth score of 628 for 5 over Maharashtra, Jharkhand fought back against Saurashtra after Cheteshwar Pujara s century. Meanwhile, Mumbai are on the brink of a victory as Odisha are 4 wickets down and need 320 to win. Amidst these there were a few Indian players who provided stellar show:

Karun Nair: Nair had to make the most of this opportunity. If wanted to remain a strong contender to return to the Indian side, this podium was what he could utilise. Nair remained unbeaten on 56 on Day 2. He went on to slam his 12th First-Class century.

Mayank Agarwal: The double-centurion until Day 2, notched up his maiden First-Class triple-century on Day 3. His unbeaten 494-ball 304 witnessed 28 fours and 4 sixes. He also received able support from Nair (270) and opener Ravikumar Samarth (259).

Ishant Sharma: Ishant who had a good run in the previous two games of Delhi, saw him on top once again amongst the pacers. He claimed three early wickets to halt Uttar Pradesh s success. One of the wickets was also of that of skipper Suresh Raina.

Suresh Raina: The skipper found tough time to find runs flowing from his willow. Raina managed add tally of 26 runs in his third game. Raina also found no luck with the wickets.

Piyush Chawla: After Priyank Panchal s show with the bat, spinners defended Gujarat s second-innings total of 289. Chawla was not just economical with his bowling but also joined hands with Siddarth Desai to reduce Haryana to 94 for 7 and take them closer to another victory. He ended with 3 for 24 at 2.40.

Mohammed Shami: Shami was the star for Bengal in the previous game with an 8-wicket haul. This time around as well, Shami continued from where he left. He claimed 3 wickets in the first and apiece in the second.

Ashoke Dinda: The Man of the Match of the previous game for his 10-wicket haul ended with 5 wickets bundling Himachal Pradesh to 206. Although he has not scalped a single wicket in the second-innings so far, he stays ahead of his counterpart Shami.

Sandeep Sharma: After IPL success for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Sandeep instilled early collapse for Chhattisgarh outfoxing opener Abhimanyu Chauhan and Amandeep Khare. With Chhattisgarh tottering at 171 for 4, can Sandeep end up as the highest wicket-taker of the game?
