Ranji Trophy 2018-19, Elite C, Round 3, Day 1: Ankit Rajpoot, Shivam Mavi keep control of Services

A vital unbeaten half-century from Devender Lohchab in an 88-run stand for the eighth wicket with Nitin Tanwar propped up Services to 256/8 in 90 overs at the end of day one in their 2018-19 Ranji Trophy Elite Group C round three match at Palam.

Lohchab (71*) and Tanwar (39) revived the innings from 147/7 to 235/8 after Group C leaders Uttar Pradesh chipped away. Services’ skipper Rajat Paliwal was one of four batsmen to get starts but fail to move forward, his 28 off 69 balls the second-highest score after Vikas Hathwala’s 38 from 38 before the eighth-wicket pair dug in.

For UP, Ankit Rajpoot with 3/70 in 24 overs and Shivam Mavi  with 3/44 from 20 were the chief wicket-takers. Mavi’s third was Tanwar who faced 91 balls.
