Ranji Trophy 2018-19, Elite C, Round 4, Day 3: Assam beat Haryana by an innings

Seamers Arup Das and Mukhtar Hussain have bowled Assam  to their second victory of the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy, combined to bowl out Haryana for 178 on Friday to win their Elite Group C round four match by an innings and 35 runs.

Having reduced Haryana to 78/7 by stumps on day three, after Das claimed four wickets in a crippling spell, Assam were delayed by Poonish Mehta who hit his maiden first-class fifty and scored the bulk of the 100 runs added on day three.

Mehta was not out on 70 off 94 balls as Mukhtar Hussain polished off the tail to finish with 4/58.

Brief scores: Assam 310 (Sharma 96) beat Haryana 97 & 178 (Mehta 70*, Hussain 4/58, Das 4/37) by an innings and 35 runs
