Tripura allrounder Manisankar Murasingh was at the centre of a remarkable fightback from Tripura in Cuttack, where at the end of day three of their 2018-19 Ranji Trophy Elite Group C round four match they had hosts Odisha five wickets down and needing 105 runs to get.
From 130/5 – a lead of 40 – Tripura did very well to get to 304 thanks to Murasinghâs 104-ball 75, Rana Datta (29) and Harmeet Singh (42) who more than doubled the score.

That late push set Odisha a target of 216, which was made to look far greater after Murasingh grabbed two wickets in a sharp new-ball spell. His dismissals of Anurag Sarangi (3) and Govinda Poddar (0) hurt the hosts, who in Murasinghâs second spell lost Biplab Samantray (3) and Suryakant Pradhan (0) in one over to be left in bad shape at 79/5.
