Uttar Pradesh suffered a batting collapse after losing Suresh Raina on the third morning who was out hit-wicket to Aaron. His departure resulted in a slide and despite Rinku Singh holding one end, hitting a half-century, UP crashed to 243-all out after starting the day on 173/4.
Rahul Shukla was the wrecker-in-chief, taking 5/65 from 18 overs whole Aaron returned figures of 4/59 from 17 overs.
Raina fell after scoring 75 as UP conceded a 111-run lead to the tourists at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Yash Dayal gave his side an early success when removed Jharkhand opener Nazim Siddiqui for 3 but they recovered from the early jolt through a 74-run association between Kumar Deobrat (70*) and Utkarsh Singh (48).
Deobrat, who has struck 11 fours so far, had captain Ishan Kishan (18*) for company when the play ended and Jharkhand had extended their lead to 254 runs.
Brief Scores: Jharkhand 354 and 143/2 (Kumar Deobrat 79*; Yash Dayal 1/23) lead Uttar Pradesh 243 by 254 runs
