Jharkhand pocketed three points to move a rung below Uttar Pradesh at third spot after their Round 6 Elite C Ranji Trophy 2018-19 match ended in a tame draw on Monday.

Gaining a healthy 111-run first-innings lead, Jharkhand resumed their second dig overnight at 143/2. Kumar Deobrat, overnight on 70, added just eight runs on the final day before the 97-run partnership for the third wicket was brought to an end by Yash Dayal, who had Deobrat edge it behind to Upendra Yadav.

Deobrat scored 78 off 186 with 11 boundaries. Jharkhand skipper Ishan Kishan continued his fine form and notched a half-century on return from New Zealand where he was part of the India A squad. Kishan (56) was dismissed by Dayal, who claimed his third wicket. Ishank Jaggi, who fell short by five runs of his century in the first innings, was cleaned up by Imtiaz Ahmed for 11 as Jharkhand declared their second innings at 213/5 to set Uttar Pradesh a 324-run target.

In reply, Uttar Pradesh lost just the one wicket of Samarth Singh, who fell to Varun Aaron for 19. Mohammad Saif and Priyam Garg held fort till stumps on the final day with an unbeaten 130-run partnership. Saif brought up his second first-class half-century and was unbeaten on 64 off 149, with seven boundaries and one six, while Garg reached his fourth first-class fifty to remain unbeaten on 80 off 135. He smashed 13 boundaries.
