Left-arm spinner Tinu Kundu bagged his maiden first-class six-wicket haul to help Haryana bundle out Services for 170 on the opening day of their Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Round 9 Elite C match on Monday.

Kundu, playing in just his fourth match, returned with figures of 6/60 in his 18.3 overs to improve on his previous best of 4/44. Offspinner Amit Rana claimed the other four wickets – his figures read 4/55 – to sum up a complete spin bowling show.

Put into bat on the notorious Lahli pitch, Services lost half their side in the first 25 overs with Kundu accounting for four wickets. Captain Rajat Paliwal tried to thwart the flurry of wickets, but he fell for 27 off 20 after striking five boundaries, to Kundu.

Vikas Hathwala top scored for Services with 54 off 110, his innings decorated with five boundaries and one six before he was sent back by the ever confident Kundu.

In reply, Haryana were 10/1 when stumps were drawn. Ankit Kumar was the only casualty for the home side. He was dismissed by Diwesh Pathania for 3.
