Leg-spinner Adil Rashid would replace all-rounder Michael Yardy in the England World Cup squad after Yardy withdrew from the marquee tournament following a bout of depression.

The England & Wales Cricket Board said it had received permission from tournament organizers to replace Yardy.

The 23-year-old spinner, who is currently in the West Indies England’s second string team, is expected to arrive in Colombo on Saturday.

England face Sri Lanka in the fourth World Cup quarter-final tie at Colombo on Saturday.
