Ravi Shastri: We don’t care about T20I results
"T20 cricket for us, we don't care. You win or lose, it doesn't matter, but give youngsters the opportunity so you come to know who is in the fray for 2019." - Shastri

After whitewashing Sri Lanka 0-3, Team India rounded off an impressive home season. Ravi Shastri, who is at the helms of affairs, said that the team management does not care about winning or losing in T20 cricket. He felt that T20Is should be used to rope in young blood before testing them in ODIs and Test level.
Speaking in the post-match show, Shastri said: “T20 cricket for us, we don’t care. You win or lose, it doesn’t matter, but give youngsters the opportunity so you come to know who is in the fray for 2019 (World Cup).”
Shastri also heaped praises on Jaydev Unadkat for his impressive bowling this series. âVery good variations (talking about Unadkat). He’s been around for 5-6 years now but he’s evolved beautifully. He understands his bowling which is so important.â
He also lauded KL Rahulâs improvement as a player. Shastri opined:Â “Rahul is a class player. He’s got time. He plays all the shots. For me, he’s the most improved player in world cricket in the last 18-20 months.”
To cap off he talked about Indiaâs upcoming tour to South Africa.
He said: “That’s the challenge (the South Africa tour). In your playing career, if you’re not up for challenges, then it’s no fun. Should be a good series. This is a side which can compete anywhere in the world.â
