Bengaluru Police has arrested Royal Challengers Bangalore’s marketing and revenue head Nikhil Sosale from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru in connection with the stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Apart from this, DNA Entertainment Network employees Kiran Kumar (Senior Event Manager) and Sunil Mathew (Vice President â ââBusiness Affairs) have also been detained by the police.
The move to arrest RCB and DNA officials was taken following the order of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. On June 4, 11 people were killed in a stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during RCB’s IPL victory celebrations.
The Karnataka CM on Thursday ordered the arrest of RCB, DNA and Karnataka State Cricket Association officials, as well as Bengaluru police commissioner B Dayanand, Additional Commissioner (West) Vikas Kumar Vikas, DCP (Central) Shekhar H Tekkannavar and other lower officials of the Cubbon Park police station had announced the immediate suspension of several top police officials.
