Similar to how Kings XI Punjab bowlers pulled things back in the middle overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore after the hosts had got off to a rollicking start, RCB also pulled things back after the powerplay overs as KXIP went from 68/1 in six overs to 143/3 in 15 overs, yet found themselves ahead in the chase with David Miller and Nicolas Pooran in the middle.

After KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal provided a breezy start in the powerplay overs, Agarwal was undone by Marcus Stoinis, who had the Indian Test opener pull one without timing to hand Yuzvendra Chahal a wicket at mid wicket. Agarwal went after a good start, but failing to build on it with 35 off 21 balls.

In the next over, the 11th of the innings, bowled by Moeen Ali – his first – and the England international struck first ball removing the in-form Rahul for 42 off 27 balls, when he lofted one towards long off to be caught by Tim Southee. With both the well-set batsmen gone, KXIP found themselves in a bit of a slump with Moeen Ali and Washington Sundar sending down a few tidy overs.  FOLLOW LIVE SCORE: RCB vs KXIP

But West Indian Pooran, in for Sam Curran, broke the shackles with three sixes off Sundar before adding a four off Navdeep Saini as KXIP found themselves at 143/3 in 15 overs, needing 60 off 30 balls. Pooran is unbeaten on 30 off 18 balls while David Miller has had a slow start with ten off 14 balls. FOLLOW LIVE BLOG: RCB vs KXIP
