The Australian cricket fans may not have been sure if Ricky Ponting would end his century drought even when was he had moved to 90s today but his wife was sure that his husband would get to the hundred when he crossed 60s.

“Once he got past 60, that’s been a number that’s haunted us,” Rianna said of her husband, who has been dismissed in the 60s three out of his past seven innings before this Test.

“Once he got into the 70s, I thought we’re home.”

Rianna, however, was unsure what happened amid the drama when Ponting brought up three figures with a risky single.

“I didn’t see where that ball went, there was a lot of chaos,” she told Channel Nine.

“Then the shirt got dirty and I wasn’t sure what happened with it all. Then everyone stood up and I thought that’s a good sign he’s got it.”

Rianna said Ponting was batting more freely since relinquishing the captaincy last year.

“He’s so much more relaxed, he’s a better dad, he’s a better husband, it’s been good. I’ve said to him as long as you keep loving it as much as you do, let’s just keep going and a big score’s around the corner, and he proved that today,” she said. (PTI)
