Robert Key trolls Subway

Kent star (not to be confused with home appliances brand Kenstar) Robert Key was paying a customary visit to Subway. By his own admission, he loves food from the chain. On this occasion, however, he was slightly amused (was he?) to find a sign in the joint that said: “PLEASE USE THIS QR CODE OR ALTERNATIVELY ASK YOUR SANDWICH ARTIST”.

Key clicked a photo, and immediately tweeted, mocking at the term “sandwich artist” (one can perhaps even see him smile). As the sandwich was being prepared, Key took another snap — this time of the gloved hands in action — and was quick to tweet: “That’s art right there”.

As the “artist” spread sauce (mayonnaise?) on the sandwich, Key could not help tweeting again, complete with another photograph, nominating the “artwork” for Turner Prize, which, of course, is an annual prize named after the legendary JMW Turner and is given to a British visual artist under 50.

Finally, he concluded with another tweet (he did not seem that amused anymore): “If you can call Subway  workers artist [sic] we may as well call people at Build-a-Bear doctors,” with a reference to the immensely popular Build-a-Bear workshop that allows buyers to assemble and customise their stuffed toys.
