Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have reached a score of 141 for three against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after 15 overs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. Robin Uthappa is batting on 51 and Shakib Al Hassan is on 47. Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to field at the Eden Gardens. Gautam Gambhir (4), Manish Pandey (13) and Yusuf Pathan (22) are the batsmen to have been dismissed.
Shakib hit one from Chahal down the ground for a four. It was not well-timed, but in the gap between long-off and long-on. Kolkata were beginning to score runs more freely as the two batsmen in Uthappa and Shakib were building a good partnership. Uthappa then reached his half-century with a single towards long-off. This was his fifth fifty in IPL 2014.
He is already the leading run-scorer in IPL 7. He went past Glenn Maxwell. Ashok Dinda then bowled a front-foot no-ball. Shakib faced the free-hit, but it was a good yorker and only one run came from it towards deep backward-point. Shakib then hammered one past Chahal for a four. The next delivery was lofted down the ground for a six. The fourth delivery of the 15th over was hit for a six over deep mid-wicket.
