Roger Binny, the highest wicket-taker during the 1983 World Cup triumph, is set to replace Kris Srikkanth at the helm of the Indian cricket selection panel.

“It is more or less certain that let alone be the chief selector, Amarnath will no longer be a selector. And you cannot ask for a better candidate to anchor the Indian team’s next phase than Binny,” a BCCI insider told HT on Monday.

It is learnt that Binny s high-profile colleagues in KSCA president Anil Kumble and secretary Javagal Srinath have been “sounded” about Binny s likelihood of “being the next chief selector”.
