Rohit Sharma congratulated by cricketers for century on debut

Rohit Sharma was congratulated by cricketers all over the world for smashing century on Test debut on Thursday against West Indies in the first innings of the first Test at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

His bat sticker reads ‘TON’ and Rohit made his bat do the talking on a challenging surface to lead India’s fightback with a fluent ton. It was a trademark Rohit innings filled with elegant drives through the covers and most of the strokes timed to perfection.

One of the first to congratulate him was former New Zealand crickter Scott Styris, who also played with Rohit in Indian Premier League team Deccan Chargers.

It was followed by former Pakistan cricketer and Kings XI Punjab all-rounder Azhar Mahmood.

Azhar’s wife also tweetd about the Indian star’s century.

Even Indian women star cricketer Anjum Chopra congratulated the Mumbai batsman on Twitter.

Rahul Sharma also congratulated Rohit.

Former India and Rajasthan player Aakash Chopra praised Rohit’s ‘quality of innings’.

Tweets kept on following as Rohit became the 14th Indian batsman to score a century on Test debut.
