Rohit Sharma crosses 1,000-run mark in 2013

India opener Rohit Sharma crossed the 1,000 run-mark in 2013 when he reached 142 against Australia during the seventh One-Day International (ODI) in M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Saturday.
During the course of the knock, he also reached his maiden 150, also his highest score in the 50-over format. He also surpassed Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s record of highest number of sixes by an Indian in ODI — 10, when he hit the 11th shot outside the boundary rope in the innings.
The record is held by Australian all-rounder Shane Watson who had blasted 15 sixes against Bangladesh during his knock of 185.
With this knock, Rohit also crossed the 3,000-run mark in ODI cricket.
