India opener Rohit Sharma on Tuesday kickstarted the âSwachch Bharat Abhiyanâ in the state-run Indian Oil by cleaning the place with a broom along with top company officials at the firmâs marketing division head office in suburban Bandra here. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day address had sought peopleâs participation in realising Mahatma Gandhiâs dream of a clean India.
Sharma, who is on Indian Oil rolls, formally launched the campaign. The nation-wide campaign will officially be launched on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The state-run oil marketing firm is rolling out cleanliness drive across its country-wide marketing infrastructure and network of 40,000 customer touch points, including over 24,000 fuel stations and 7,000 LPG distributors
