Rohit Sharma was out LBW for 9 off 24 balls on Day One of the first Test between India and Sri Lanka at Galle. Rohit had previously survived after being declared out LBW only to see that the bowler had over-stepped. However, he was out soon thereafter as Angelo Mathews trapped him in front. Earlier, KL Rahul was dismissed for a mere seven by fast bowler Dhammika Prasad after being trapped leg-before to leave India at 14 for 1. Opener Shikhar Dhawan went past 1,000 Test runs earlier in the innings. Earlier, Sri Lanka had won the toss and elected to bat first. Ravichandran Ashwin continued his charge after lunch, taking six wickets to help India restrict Sri Lanka to a moderate total after Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal staged a remarkable fightback in the post-lunch session of Day One of the first Test at Galle. Chandimal was lucky to make it past the first over after lunch, as an outside edge off Ishant Sharma was put down by Wriddhiman Saha. Ashwin then came back into play though, getting rid of first Angelo Mathews for 64 and Dhammika Prasad for a duck. Amit Mishra made his mark as well, taking wickets off consecutive balls to dismiss Chandimal and Tharindu Kaushal to leave Sri Lanka nine down for 179. Ashwin clean bowled Rangana Herath to bowl out Sri Lanka for 183. Live Updates: India vs Sri Lanka, 1st Test at Galle, Day 1
