In a press-conference ahead of the final, even Shubman Gill was asked about Rohit’s future in ODI, to which Gill had said that there has been no discussion about this in the dressing room and that the captain will be thinking about the Champions Trophy like everyone else.

Rohit’s career holds several records, and he is regarded as one of the greatest openers in cricket history. He holds the record for the most double centuries in ODI cricket (3), most centuries in Cricket World Cups (7) and joint-most centuries in T20Is (5).

Apart from that, Rohit also holds the world record for highest individual score in an ODI match (264), and is also the single-ever cricketer to score three double centuries in ODI matches. Rohit is also the only player to win 50 matches as a T20I captain and is the first-ever Indian skipper to lead the team in the finals of all ICC tournament.
