Australian batsman Ashton Turner‘s torrid time in IPL 2019 continued on Monday when he bagged his third consecutive golden duck for Rajasthan Royals.

Turner’s third scoreless innings this IPL gave him an unwanted record – that of becoming the first batsman to score zero in five consecutive T20 innings.

Turner made his IPL debut in Rajasthan’s match against KXIP and bagged a first-ball duck. With Jos Buttler back in England for the birth of his child, Turner got another opportunity against Mumbai Indians but was again out first ball.

On Monday, against Delhi Capitals in Jaipur, he again was out for a golden duck when he loosely drove a ball from Ishant Sharma straight to Sherfane Rutherford at cover.

This duck followed Turner’s scores of 0 in a T20I against India in March and before that, a duck for Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League.

Rajasthan Royals made 191/6 in their 20 overs, with Ajinkya Rahane scoring 105 not out and Steve Smith 50.
