Pune Warriors India will hope that they will be the first team to beat Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in the 50th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday.

Rajasthan Royals were beaten comfortably by Pune Warriors India in their previous encounter at the Subrata Sahara Stadium. Rajasthan’s batting revolves mainly around Shane Watson and to a certain extent Brad Hodge (who was dropped in their previous encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders). Rahul Dravid batted at No. 8 which was baffling. The ploy to expose James Faulkner, Sanju Samson and Dishant Yagnik is a horses for courses policy. The core of the batting order if tinkered might give Rajasthan chequered results.

Ajinkya Rahane has opened the batting in all the matches. He has had modest tournament so far. The centurion of IPL 2012, Rahane will be hoping to get himself in and then score big. Owais Shah’s inclusion bolsters batting line-up but it is no good if he bats any later that No.4. If Samson is Rajasthan’s full time one-down batsman then Rajasthan might think of including Kevon Cooper to reinforce the bowling department and also a handy batting prospect will be at their disposal.
