Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoniâs Income Tax (IT) accounts were hacked by a 22-year old in Noida recently. The incidents came to light when the police were investigating another case in Hyderabad where a student had hacked into businessman Anil Ambaniâs account.
Tendulkar and Dhoni are not the only celebrities whose IT accounts have been hit by this cyber attack. Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khanâs accounts too were hacked. The police stated that they found about when they realised that Ambaniâs account was accessed in Noida as well.
Mukund Pawar, who is in-charge of the Cyber Crime cell in Mumbai told Mumbai Mirror, “We found out that the account was accessed from two places â Hyderabad and Noida. Our investigations led us to a girl from Chikkadpally. When we asked her, she denied she had accessed the account from Noida, or for that matter knew anybody there. We, therefor, realized that one more person had hacked the account.”
The 22-year old student had hacked into those accounts while doing his articleship at a local accounting firm. Dhoniâs account was hacked on June 24 and June 28, whereas Tendulkarâs was accessed on July 4.
