Sachin Tendulkar said that the media and others should not put pressure on his son Arjun as he too has chosen cricket as his passion. Tendulkar, who retired on Saturday from the game, was addressing the media in Mumbai.

“As a father, I feel Arjun should be left alone. Don’t keep expectations from him. Had the same pressure been on me, I would have held a pen instead of a cricket bat. He shouldn’t be compared to me,” said Tendulkar.

“Arjun has chosen cricket as his passion and that is what matters. Whether he performs or not is a different thing. I’m not going to put pressure on him, hopefully you (media) shouldn’t too. You should let him enjoy cricket. That is the most important thing.”

Tendulkar played his 200th and final Test for India on Saturday and bid adieu to the game after 24 glorious years.
