Playing his 199th and penultimate Test match, Sachin Tendulkar is in the limelight even before he gets an opportunity to bat. Tendulkar picked wicket of Shane Shillingford just before tea to complete 200 wickets in ODIs and Tests combined together. This achievement is an addition to his long list of achievements which includes the 100 international tons.
Just one over before tea on Day One in the first Test at Eden Gardens, MS Dhoni handed the ball to Tendulkar. With his leg-breaks, he generated good turn to trouble the batsman. The wicket finally came when Shillingford played for the turn and the ball zipped straight to hit his pads.
Tendulkar has hardly bowled in Tests since January 2008. Since January 16, 2008 till date, Tendulkar has bowled in only 19 out of the 53 Tests he has played. The last time he got a wicket was that of Mark Boucher way back in Cape Town, 2011 where the former South African wicketkeeper was out leg before.
Tendulkar already has 154 wickets in One-Day Internationals and 46 wickets so far in Test matches.
