The books ordered on day-one already saw it pulling ahead of both ordered before and lifetime sales of the world’s top adult hardbacks Dan Brown’s Inferno, Walter Issacson’s Steve Jobs and JK Rowling’s Casual Vacancy. Tendulkar has been the most talked about cricketer right since 1989 since the match against Pakistan. Over the span of few quarter of century he went on to acquire many firsts in his life being the first batsman to score first to secure 50 Test hundreds, became the first man to score an ODI double hundred and is the only one with 200 Test caps.

Earlier in November last year, former Indian captain Kapil Dev had refused to comment on Tendulkar’s claim in ‘Playing It My Way’ that despite being one of the finest Indian all-rounders of all time, the former skipper was disappointing as a coach and said it was Tendulkar’s “personal opinion”. Tendulkar had opined that in his autobiography. READ: Eight language launch for Tendulkar autobiography
