Sachin Tendulkar has sought Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar s intervention in resolving a property dispute. That involves a holiday resort in Landour, Mussoorie. Dahlia Bank, the popular property which is partly owned by Tendulkar s business partner Sanjay Narang. The dispute is between the resort and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). A few sources related with DRDO and who are aware of the issue have revealed that Tendulkar s property, located in the Landour cantonment area, has allegedly breached the 50-foot, no-construction zone next to the Institute of Technology Management a sensitive DRDO establishment. According to Economic Times, Tendulkar apparently had cut down his Australia trip in 2015 for meeting Parrikar regarding this issue.

A senior official added, Tendulkar had been trying to meet the minister and an appointment was set up. He spoke at length about the property case, which was heard out. However, no action was taken on the request put forward. Although the minister provided the cricketing legend with a patient hearing, there was no action taken by the ministry in the favour of Tendulkar.

Meanwhile, a source from the institute said Narang had obtained permissions to build tennis courts in what is called the ‘restricted construction zone’ around the establishment but instead went on to construct full-fledged buildings.

Since the case involves Tendulkar, it is bound to gain all the attention. Also, the ever-increasing construction in the area has drawn criticism and controversies with several complaints pertaining to “illegal high-investment commercial activities being made to the Central Vigilance Commission and Central Bureau of Investigation in the recent months.
