Indian cricketiong legend Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday signed one of his cricket bats and gifted it to Pranav Dhanawade, who has been in the news for a couple of days owing to his record-breaking innings of 1,009 runs in a single innings. Sachin had earlier, expressed his best wishes for Dhanawade and congratulated him on his recor-breaking innings that in undoubtedy a world-record as of now. The cricketer is from Mumbai as he broght up the total laying for his school, while Sachin too hails from the same city, that is known to have produced few great and quality cricketers. Dhanawade’s historic innings of 1009 not out earned him accolades from all corners of the world, including earning praises from legendary retired cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. The former Indian batting maestro was among the many well-known people congratulating the Mumbai teenager for becoming the first-ever batsmen to record a quadruple-digit score in a single, innings, smashing 59 sixes and 129 fours in the 323 deliveries that he smashed at a strike-rate of over 300. KC Gandhi High School, the institution whose cricket team Dhanawane was playing for, declared on a score of 1465. “Congrats #PranavDhanawade on being the first ever to score 1000 runs in an innings. Dhanawade has secured a monthly scholarship for five years from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) a day after becoming the first batsman in the world to notch-up a four-figure innings on Monday.

 

 

“Hon ble President Shri Sharad Pawar, on behalf of the Mumbai Cricket Association, has announced a scholarship of Rs 10,000 per month to Mr Pranav Dhanawade for scoring a World Record 1009 runs in a single innings,” said MCA in a media release, reports PTI.
