Mumbai: Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and singer Kavita Seth have donated Rs 100,000 each to the Rotary Club of Mumbai’s The Anshul, Seksaria Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery Project. The project is aimed at helping 100 surgeries for children whose parents are unable to afford medical treatment. “It is a great pleasure for me to be associated with such a noble cause. If these Rs 100,000 can save someone’s life, then I think it is the best use of money. Also besides me Sachin Tendulkar is also supporting the cause and I hope lots of people come ahead and support it,” Kavita said in a statement. Apart from them, former Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria and Principal Commissioner of Income Tax Sumant Sinha have also supported the cause.

Earlier, India s cricketing legend of the modern game Sachin, and former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly were on the football field on Saturday, as their respective football franchise, Atletico de Kolkata and Kerala Blasters squared off against each other in the final of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2016 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Sunday. It is the second time these two teams have come face to face in the final, after the same was seen in the final of the inaugural season of the tournament, where Kolkata was the winning team. Prior to the match, both the legends gave a pose for the camera, pertaining when friends turn foe.
