Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar who is co-owner of Kerala Blasters Football Club (FC) in Indian Super League recruited Newcastle United defender Peter Ramage to play for his franchise. This was on 24 August’ 2015 i.e. around a week back. Peter Ramage is now very excited to be part of Tendulkar’s team and has said that he will do his best for his new club to help it win the next ISL championships. 31-year old Ramage is a decent defender and has a fine record playing for Newcastles and clubs which took him on a loan basisâ Crystal Palace and Barnsley. In a conversation with Hartlepool Mail he said, âFrom what Iâve been hearing, the league are looking to bring in established players at a crossroads in their career. Iâve had 52,000 passionate Geordies baying for blood, and walking out at Selhurst (Park) is just as intimidating. Simao, the Portuguese winger, Luisao, the Brazilian centre half â these are players coming to the ends of their careers, but still have a lot to offer. Theyâre legends of the game and will still demand the same level they had a couple of years ago, so itâs only going to get better and more competitive. Iâve always wanted to play abroad, but I never thought it was going to be India. Roberto Carlos has been â and still is â one of the best left backs in the world. Nicolas Anelka is still fantastic, and has gone for a hell of a lot of money in his time. The season before last, he was still scoring in the Premier League. To pit my wits against these kinds of players is something that Iâm relishing.â PHOTO: Sachin Tendulkar wishes everyone, âHappy Onam!â
